Honda Civic vs. Hyundai Elantra
Performance
If you enjoy taking full control of your vehicle's performance, the Honda Civic gives it to you. The lineup features your choice of a continuously variable automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission, letting you choose which type of driving experience you want most. The new Hyundai Elantra lineup only comes equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
The new Honda Civic models have more standard horsepower than the Hyundai Elantra lineup does, providing you with a more exciting performance. Both vehicles come equipped with a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. However, the Civic delivers 158-horsepower and 138 pounds-feet of torque, while the Hyundai Elantra models have 147-horsepower.
Both vehicles have two engine options available. The new Hyundai Elantra N Line models deliver 201-horsepower. The Honda Civic SI models have 200-horsepower. However, there's also an available Civic Type R model, the sportiest Civic model available, providing you with 315-horsepower.
Interior
The new Honda Civic lineup has standard automatic climate control, helping to keep you warm in the cold weather around Scranton, PA, and cool on the hot summer days. The new Hyundai Elantra lineup offers automatic climate control on higher trim levels, but not standard.
You can easily get into your vehicle and go with standard keyless entry and ignition, with no need for a physical key. The new Hyundai Elantra models don't have standard keyless entry or ignition standard.
Technology Features
The Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra models both have a state-of-the-art infotainment system on touchscreen displays. Both vehicles also have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing you to seamlessly connect your smartphone device and enjoy a familiar menu setup with control over calls, apps, maps, messages, music, and much more.
Safety Features
The new Honda Civic model has a suite of cutting-edge driver assistance features, as does the new Hyundai Elantra lineup. However, you can find more standard safety features in the Civic lineup than in the Hyundai Elantra lineup. All Civic models have adaptive cruise control, as well as a rear seat reminder system, traffic sign recognition, and LED headlights.
