Before you head out to college this fall, it's important to give your car a bit of attention. From cleaning out your vehicle to getting the necessary maintenance, you can save yourself a lot of trouble while you are at college when you get your car ready for the semester.

Get all scheduled maintenance done according to your owner's manual and take care of an oil change and tire rotation. If your tires need to be replaced, it is a good time to get them replaced before you go back to school. Clean your car thoroughly and get yourself organized for the year ahead.

Pack emergency supplies in your vehicle, including flashlight with batteries, a spare tire, jack, shovel and warm blanket. If you aren't sure how to change a tire, it's time to learn. When you are prepared for the school year, you are going to have fewer car emergencies to worry about.
