Understanding Tread and Pressure

Most drivers dread the prospect of breaking down. While many factors are out of your control, tire care is one area where you can find problems well in advance and fix them before experiencing an issue. Avoid blowouts and flats by monitoring your tire pressure and tread depth occasionally.

Improperly inflated tires can cost you money in a variety of ways, from wearing unevenly to needing to be replaced more frequently to reducing your fuel efficiency. Use your owner's manual as a guideline for the range of inflation your tires should have and use a tire gauge to make sure they stay in that range. Your tread is easy to check; inserting a penny between two treads with Lincoln headfirst, you'll know the tread is too low if you can see all of Lincoln's head.

If you require assistance with tire maintenance, contact us at Matt Burne Honda. We can replace your balding tires or check your pressure whenever you need it.
