As one of the most versatile SUVs available, the Honda Passport exudes athleticism. With a unique design and bold performance, the Passport can travel on and off the road. The 2024 model is due out soon, so before it arrives, let's discuss what you can expect to find in the upcoming vehicle.

What’s New for 2024?

At current not much is known about the 2024 Honda Passport. However, rumors suggest that Honda is set to improve its Trailssport trim. Since the Honda Pilot was recently redesigned, changes drivers can expect to find include steel skid plates to help protect the Passport against rocks and other debris when in the wilderness. A potential increase in its ground clearance is also expected, plus unique suspension tuning and new traction management systems specifically designed for off-road driving.

Performance

If no changes are made to the powertrain of the Passport, then this model will still be powered by the same 3.5-liter 280-hp V-6 that last year's model used. A nine-speed automatic transmission comes front-wheel drive is standard, but all other trims than the base model will use all-wheel drive.

As for its fuel economy, the EPA estimates that the Passport will get about 19 miles per gallon in the city. While on the highway, it will get about 21 miles per gallon. These ratings were found to be consistent with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models.

Interior

There is no news about the 2024 Pilot's interior. But the current Passport model offers a comfortable ride and plenty of cabin and cargo space.

Though the current model's interior is nothing to write home about, the materials are still attractive. The front seats are wide and comfortable, accommodating all types of drivers, and with an adjustable armrest, the seat can be adapted for even more comfort.

Then there's the cargo area. With 41 cubic feet of storage space behind the rear seat, about 15 carry-on suitcases can be carried. But by folding the rear seats down, the cargo area has 78 cubic feet of capacity and can accommodate about 33 bags. In general, the storage in the Passport is nice and useful thanks to a huge center-console bin and various cubby areas throughout the cabin.

Technology

Every Passport has an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This system includes Bluetooth and a wireless smartphone charging pad. Base models the like the EX-L have a seven-speaker audio system, but higher trims like the Elite offer come with a ten-speaker model. Also available in the Honda Passport is a 115-volt outlet that can be used to power tools or camping equipment, and there's an available Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety

The Honda Passport comes standard with a suite of safety and driver-assistance technology. Standard features include forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and more. Though higher trims will feature HondaLink connected services, which will allow you to connect with roadside assistance should you be stuck on the side of the road or be in an accident.
