At Matte Burne Honda in Scranton, PA, we have a wonderful selection of new Honda Civic and Honda Civic Hybrid models for sale. Much like the Honda Accord lineup, the Civic and Civic Hybrid aren’t two separate models, and instead the Civic lineup is split between models with a regular gasoline engine or with a hybrid powertrain. It’s our mission to make finding the right vehicle easier for everyone around Wilkes Barre, PA, and we’re sure that we have a Honda Civic model to fit your lifestyle and financial needs with ease.
To help you decide between the Honda Civic and the Honda Civic Hybrid models, we’re going to compare the two different variants to highlight some of the things that each type of Civic model does best.
Honda Civic vs. Honda Civic Hybrid
Performance
Engine
The new Honda Civic LX and Sport models both use the same engine. It’s a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 150-horsepower and 133 pounds-feet of torque, providing you with a peppy and exciting performance on all your outings around Clarks Summit, PA and beyond.
The new Honda Civic Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trim levels are the next in the lineup. They upgrade to a hybrid powertrain. Both models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. The system combines for 200-horsepower and 232 pounds-feet of torque, delivering a more energetic and exciting performance, while also helping you save on fuel. Both models achieve impressive fuel economy in the city and on the highway, making traveling easier and more affordable.
Two other types of Honda Civic models are available, the Civic SI and Civic Type R. The Civic SI models have the same hybrid powertrain and output as the other hybrid Civic models, but provide a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching downshifts, as well as a sport-tuned suspension, bigger brakes, a limited-slip front differential, and other upgrades to provide you with the sportiest and most engaging performance in a Civic hybrid model.
Interior
Both the Civic and Civic Hybrid models offer almost the same interior dimensions, with all Civic models providing you with comfortable seating for five passengers and 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk for all your storage needs. Because the regular Civic models are the first two trim levels in the lineup, they offer slightly less options than the higher hybrid trims, including only offering cloth upholstery, while the Sport Touring Hybrid models have available leather upholstery.
Technology
All the new Honda Civic LX and Sport models have a cutting-edge infotainment system on a 7-inch touchscreen display, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration that lets you seamlessly connect your smartphone and control it while you’re on the go. The new Honda Civic Sport Hybrid, the first of the Civic hybrid models, also has a 7-inch touchscreen display. The Civic Sport Touring Hybrid model has a larger 9-inch touchscreen display.
Another advantage of the Civic Sport Touring Hybrid model is an available wireless smartphone charging pad, letting you set your phone down and let it get back to 100% without the clutter of wires running through your vehicle.
Safety
The new Honda Civic LX models have forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and more. Sport models add blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. The Honda Civic Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid models follow suit by offering the same impressive suite of driver assistance features.
